The goats are OK, and have adapted to their new surroundings well. We managed to bring the only male saanen goat for probably hundreds of miles onto site to mate with our stock. He was in poor condition, but a month’s good care and food worked wonders. Most of our 75% saanen females, which we bought last year, have been mated by him, along with some of our hybrid “girls”. We are eager for female offspring with high degrees of saanen “blood”, to help build milk supply.
