Though we actively discourage dependency, sometimes, through the generosity of our supporters back in the UK, we have the opportunity to distribute goods to those in special need.

A Quilters Group’ based in Holt, made dozens of beautiful children’s quilts which Jacqui (a visitor from England) helped distribute. Others had knitted blankets, children’s jumpers and other clothing., all received with grateful thanks.
And, as the rainy season approaches, we’ll continue encouraging best agricultural practice, repairing roofs, and consider rebuilding houses for those at risk.

They were a bit of a misnomer really, in one local school, they had no resources beyond a cracked blackboard, a caring teacher, and bottle-tops to teach counting. Even though there were 100 children identified as Special Need, only 18 were on the programme due to lack of funds. The other 82 are still in main stream, distractive, and hard to handle.
We paid Term 3’s school fees for the 85 children, in 7 Secondary Schools, whose education we sponsor through our Education Programme.
Friends donated a blackboard for Thamanda’s nursery school, the voluntary teachers were delighted, and the children mesmerised!
The primary school itself has
995 children and just 2 toilets!
